Parking Meters in Myrtle Beach
Yes the city of Myrtle Beach will have the parking meters in place during Bike Week.   Myrtle Beach has placed parking meters in areas where parking is in high demand (the main drag and downtown MB).   Parking meters are in effect from March 15 through September 15, but hours of operation and enforcement will vary by location.  Contact the city of MB if you have any parking meter questions (843-626-7275),   Myrtle Beach's parking management area is east of Kings Highway, from 31st Avenue North to 29th Avenue South.  All public spaces outside the parking management area are free.

We get a lot of e-mails from people wanting to know where to park their trailer or extra vehicle during Bike Week.   Most of the e-mails come from people staying down-town MB where FREE parking is limited.   The parking metes close to where you are staying may be one place to park your trailer.  The meters are usually cheaper than storage facilities and parking decks.  All-day meters also state clearly that you can rent that meter for the whole day for just $6.00.

Most meters offer all-day parking, but in some high traffic areas, the city offers only short-term parking up to two or three hours.  Look for a green 24-hour sticker on the street side of the meter.  This indicates that it's available for all-day parking.  I would stay away from the Red and Blue stickers.  The Red stickers indicate short-term parking up to three hours, and Blue stickers indicate parking up to two hours.   The meter cops will definitely be checking for people who forgot what time it is and have let the meters expire.  Remember, meters with the green 24-hour stickers offer the all-day option for just $6.00.
